Congratulations! You’re getting married and decided to make Wedding Guestbook a part of your big day. You can hardly wait to see all of the touching entries from your guests, but how do you set it all up? Look no further! We’ve got you covered with this guide to getting started with the Wedding Guestbook platform.
Create your Wedding Guestbook Account
To start, you'll need an access code purchased from Wedding Guestbook. Once you've located your code, head on over to the Wedding Guestbook signup page to get started. There you'll input all of the information needed to create accounts for both you and your soon-to-be spouse. Once you've finished signing up, take a moment to explore your dashboard. This is where you'll manage your guestbook, and it consists of four main sections:
- Inbox - Where your entries go for review
- Guest List - Your guests and the status of their entries
- Entries - Where your entries go after they've been reviewed
- Settings - User, wedding, and guestbook settings
Invite Guests to Sign Your Guestbook
Now that you're familiar with the interface, it's time to think about how you want to invite your guests to sign your guestbook. We provide several options including a printable QR code, a direct link, and email invites. Your choice here will affect the overall tone and feel of your guestbook, so take some time to think if you'd prefer guests to share memories and photos from the past, or photos and messages from your wedding day. There's no right or wrong way to invite your guests, and we actually suggest using several methods to ensure you receive the most entries possible.
Before Your Wedding Day
If you'd prefer your book to have a more retrospective feel, and focus on past memories and photos, we recommend inviting your guests to sign your guestbook prior to the wedding. Some ideas on how to invite guests before the wedding include:
- Print your scannable QR code on your invitations
- Post a link on your wedding website or social media accounts
- Email invites to your guests from the guest list on your dashboard
During or After Your Wedding Day
If you'd prefer your book to focus more on your wedding day, we recommend inviting your guests to sign your guestbook during the reception, or even after the wedding. Some ideas on how to invite guests during or after the wedding include:
- Display a framed invitation with your QR code in place of a traditional guestbook
- Print your QR code on your program, place cards, or favors
